Approaching on a private road, just two hours north of Atlanta in the Nantahala National Forest, you will arrive at a simple one-story facade of modern corten steel with a lighted front door framed by local cedar wood. If you are lucky, you'll catch just a hint of the amazing view behind the cabin, but it is not until you enter the cabin that the full impact of the expansive views can really be experienced. The tiny house has just what you need, is surprisingly comfortable and functional, while still being both energy efficient and visually inspiring. It includes modern high end appliances, smart home features, and modern charm. The property features a total of 28 additional acres of a 100 year hardwood forest that can be explored by guests. The cabin features 2,000 square feet of outdoor living space, including a spiral staircase leading to 40 foot long observation deck. The back deck overlooks a large custom built fire pit lined with large boulders below. In the distance is rolling farmland and the Appalachian Trail at the top of the mountains beyond. Roast marshmallows by the fire, gaze at the Milky Way, enjoy the cool Mountain air or go for a hike to a nearby waterfall. Whether you are curious about tiny houses, interested in building your own cabin out of shipping containers, or simply looking for cool vacation digs ...come stay with us!

The magnificent view drew me in and exceeded all expectations. The container cabin is perfectly designed straight from a magazine with efficient use of the space making it feel very roomy. While every convenience was thought through from cinema entertainment, wi-fi, luxury appliances, and spa-like showers, most of our time was spent outdoors: on the top deck watching the sunrise, on the spacious back porch sharing meals while enjoying company and at the fire pit every night telling stories and roasting marshmallows. Enjoyed hiking waterfalls, art museums and local breweries in the area. Could not have asked for a better vacation!
If you are looking for a cabin that is unique with spectacular views then you are in right spot! This tiny home may be small in size but has BIG style! It was the perfect getaway for my husband, myself and our 1.5 year old daughter. It had everything we needed including a washer and dryer! The views are breathtaking. Our host went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. By far my favorite cabin to date!
We absolutely loved this place. The view was amazing! The place is conveinantly located off of the main roads. You can easily get to Franklin, Highlands, Clayton, or mountain trails. The place is perfect for a couple or a small family. We took our 6 year old daughter and she had a blast just exploring nature and sitting by the fire. We will definitely be back next year.
This place was perfect for a romantic getaway. Beautiful view! Brand new space that is beautifully decorated. We had everything we could ask for. I highly recommend for couples or couples!
We had such a great time at the cabin. It's far enough away from everything yet close to Franklin so you have plenty of options for eating, shopping, etc. The views from the fire pit are spectacular. We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious and well-equipped the home was. It served as a perfect home base for exploring the area (we highly recommend the hikes at Pickens Nose and Whiteside Mountain). Also don't miss Caffe Rel! Some of the best food we're had in a long time. We look forward to coming back soon!

A Tiny Home With A Lot of Space
The top level serves as the primary living area, with additional containers carved into the hilltop below serving as the foundation. The two additional containers that create an additional large covered space that you can enjoy.
Appalachian-sized Boulders
Nearly every place on the property provides a unique photo opportunity, but one of our favorite places is a view of the container from the back, just beyond the large boulder retaining wall.
An Observation Deck For Star Gazing
The south glass patio doors opens to a large back deck with a spiral staircase leading to an upper observation deck. A view from the tops leads you to a large custom built fire pit lined with large boulders below.
A Fire Pit With A View
Roast marshmallows by the fire with friends as you gaze stars over the rolling farmland below or gaze at the the Appalachian Trail at the top of the mountains beyond.
On Top Of The World
The property features a total of 28 additional acres of a 100 year hardwood forest, that includes some amazing views from the top of the mountain, that can be explored by guests.

Hike the Appalachian Trail
The Appalachian Trial extends 2,200 miles from Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. No matter if you want to hike the entire length, go out for a day hike, or just admire the trail while you sit around our fire making smores with your friends and family, this is the place for you. Enjoy views of the AT from our back deck!
Explore the Majestic Waterfalls
The rolling, mountainous and deep gorges that make up the Appalachian Moutnains results in a number of majestic waterfalls. There are 7 goregous waterfalls within a 45 minutes drive from the cabin to explore! We recommend Dry Falls, Bridal Falls and Big Laurel Falls.
Visit the Smoky Mountain National Park
Just 45 minutes away, the Smoky Mountain National Park has lush forests, an abundance of wildflowers that bloom year-round, and hundreds of miles of hiking trails. Visit Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the park, for 100-mile expansive views, or take a day trip to Cades Cove, a 6,800-acre valley known for its picturesque landscapes.

Season 1, Episode 1
We partnered with HGTV's DIY Network, Dorsey Films and Back Country Containers to feature our modern container cabin on the season premiere of Containables. Join us as we transport a 40' shipping container from Texas, up a narrow North Carolina Mountain road, through relentless incremental weather, and ultimately construct a truly modern tiny home. This unique smart home features bowling alley wood countertops, large outdoor living spaces and a spiral staircase leading up to a rooftop observation platform. The cabin is located on a beautiful property in the Nantahala National Forest that overlooks the Appalachian Trail. During the filming of the episode, two babies are born while we race to the finish line to complete the build.
